Coaches

The Traralgon Harriers Athletic Club is fortunate to have a team of excellent coaches registered with the Athletics Australia.  Over time we hope to expand the coaching team because the more coaches we have the more programs and choices we can provide for our members, which will mean we can cater for a wide range of needs and abilities.

For more information about the clubs coaching policies and job descriptions please see the coaching policy and structure page.

Traralgon Harriers is pleased to have the services of Todd Houghton and Kylie Murray as club coaches

Introduction:Todd has been running with the Traralgon Harriers for over 8 years. His running background is mainly middle distance (5-10km) and up to half marathon, mainly based around competing in triathlons. He has competed in the Athletics Victoria winter cross country & road series in the Traralgon Harriers team for a number of years. In 2013 he was one of the run leaders for the Traralgon Melbourne Marathon 10km training series.

His interest in coaching is in developing beginner & novice recreational runners to become long term runners. Coaching will focus on beginner programs designed to build running capacity without injury, focusing on technique, strength work, stretching and recovery. Sessions will cater for those wanting to run 5km for the first time through to runners who want to build to 10km and above races or improve their times over these distances.

Introduction:Kylie has an interest in recreational running for new and established runners and wants to help you achieve your running goals whether that be completing your first 5km or running a PB at a given distance. She welcomes people of all abilities who are eager to train to achieve their running goals.  Her training is based around the sound principles of running, adequate recovery and injury prevention.

She has a background in Nursing and Physical Education and has worked previously as a Gym Instructor, Sports Trainer for Local Football and Soccer Clubs and assisted with coaching juniors in soccer and athletics.
