Set in the rolling hills around the remote, historic gold-mining village of Walhalla, the Walhalla Wound Up offers three different trail running events:

50 Km (7:00 am EARLY START for anyone who will take longer than 5 HOURS) takes in the Poverty Point (old steel) bridge, Coopers Creek and Bruntons Bridge.

NB. Cut-off time for the 50kms is 6 hrs 30 minutes or 1:30pm. Organisers reserve the right to pick-up anyone who is clearly going to take longer than this time.

50 Km (8:00 am Standard Start) takes in the Poverty Point (old steel) bridge, Coopers Creek and Bruntons Bridge                                                                                                                                              21 Km (9:00 am start) takes in the Poverty Point (old steel) bridge and Coopers Creek before returning over part of the outward section of the course.
10 Km (10:15 am start) is a challenging event which winds up through the hills behind Walhalla to the “The Happy Go Lucky Mine” and back.

Presentation Times:

  •   10km     12:30pm
  •   21km     12:45pm
  •   50km     1:00pm

All events start from the valley floor outside the Star Hotel and proceed through the rustic beauty of Walhalla before continuing  into the surrounding bushland and mountainous terrain.  Many Harriers list it as their favourite event and it’s not hard to see why.  See some pictures from prior events below and check out Walhalla 2:30 min video to see a video of this iconic event.
