Welcome to the Traralgon Harriers Athletics Club

We are a running club for people of all ages and abilities, aiming to provide a fun and supportive environment for new and experienced runners alike.

In addition to hosting our weekly Thursday Night runs, the club organises some of Victoria’s best known running events, including the Traralgon Marathon and the Walhalla Wound Up.  While many of our events target the serious or more seasoned runner, we welcome people of all abilities.  Running with the Harriers means running for enjoyment and our fun, friendly approach makes the club a great option for anyone wanting to improve their fitness and their running, while enjoying the company of positive and supportive people.

Thursday night run/walk

With the exception of a few weeks over Christmas, you can run or walk with the Harriers every Thursday night.  See the calendar below for the location of the next outing.  You can find all of the Thursday race results on our Results Archive page (and some happy snaps on our Thursday night photos page).

New Runners – please arrive around 5.45pm on your first night and approach one of the volunteers on duty (identified by a high vis vest).  They will register you and ensure you are covered by insurance, give you a club brochure, explain what you need to know and introduce you to a few others.  Directions to the course are available using the Google maps function from the calendar.

The 50th Year Celebratory Dinner to be held in October, final date to be released within the next month.

Traralgon Harriers Ray and Doris Ellis 16km & 8km Hill Run

Sunday August 6th – 9:00am – Wirilda Park Tyers.
Ray is our oldest active life member and Doris was an icon of the club before she sadly passed away last year. This event honours their contributions to our club and like them the course is tough and uncompromising.

Traralgon Harriers Edward Hunter Reserve Cross Country

Sunday August 20th – 9:00am – Edward Hunter Reserve, Moe
This popular course is challenging enough but very family friendly. The main event is a 12km Cross-Country (3 laps) for both Men and Women with a 4km (1 lap) support event for juniors and anyone who does not want to run the 12km.

Traralgon Harriers 30km King and Queen of the Mountain

Though there will be a lot of individuals keen on running the whole 30km of this challenging spectacular course the push will be to have more relays teams. It doesn’t matter how you get to the top of the highest point in the Strzelecki’s but getting there individually or as a relay team will be a lot of fun.

Traralgon Harriers Walhalla Wound Up – 21km, 10km and Kids run

Sunday September 24th – DETAIL TO FOLLOW SHORTLY
THERE IS NO 50km event this year so a big and exciting field will now show case the 21km event. Whether you do the 21km or 10km they are challenging memorable events. With a kids event then there is no reason not venture to the Gold Fields in September.
