Welcome to the Traralgon Harriers Athletics Club website

We’re a running club for people of all ages and abilities, aiming to provide a fun and supportive environment for new and experienced runners alike.

In addition to hosting our weekly Thursday Night runs, the club organises some of Victoria’s best known running events, including the Traralgon Marathon, the Walhalla Wound Up and our annual King & Queen of the Mountain.  While many of our events target the serious or more seasoned runner, we welcome people of all abilities.  Running with the Harriers means running for enjoyment, and our fun, friendly approach makes the club a great option for anyone wanting to improve their fitness and their running, while enjoying the company of positive and supportive people.

Thursday Night Run/Walk

With the exception of a few weeks over Christmas, you can run or walk with the Harriers every Thursday night.  See the calendar below for the location of the next outing.  You can find all of the Thursday race results on our Results Archive page (and some happy snaps on our Thursday night photos page).

New Runners – please arrive around 5.45pm on your first night and approach one of the volunteers on duty (identified by a high vis vest).  They will register you and ensure you are covered by insurance, give you a club brochure, explain what you need to know and introduce you to a few others.  Directions to the course are available using the Google maps function from the calendar.

2015 King & Queen of the Mountain crowned

KOM competitors 2015

CONGRATULATIONS to all participants at the King & Queen of the Mountain, especially 1st timers Gerard Farell and Narelle Crozier who won their respective gender categories and etch their names into the history books.  This is an event where you’re a winner for just having a crack and it was a perfect morning for a run through the trails and bush, with lots of family support.  A HUGE THANK YOU to Bruce and Margaret Salisbury, Rick Mann, Bryan Cake and any other helpers who made this long standing event possible!  Results and photos can be found on the King & Queen of the Mountain page.

Many thanks and a warm welcome to all those who had their first Thursday night run with us on 19 November 2015.  Whilst most were runners we were also honored to have Brian and Jacqui Glover from Warrnambool join us.  Brian is a marathon walker who was here to do the King of the Mountain.  He has competed in over 50 marathon or ultra marathons with our club.

parkrun is a great experience, the club is delighted to have contributed to the establishment of Traralgon parkrun this year.  We believe parkrun is going to provide some fantastic benefits to the local community as well as our members.  Please come along and wear your harriers singlet.   For more information and to register refer to the Traralgon parkrun website and facebook sites.  We welcome and encourage anyone to participate and look forward to other towns in Latrobe Valley establishing their own parkrun events soon.
